Dr. Tyler Ideus will host “Training Trunk Stability,” a course led and designed by Dr. Richard Ulm of Athlete Performance July 31, 2021, at Lincoln Performance & Sports Medicine in Lincoln, Neb.

Trunk stability training is rarely the focus of programming and often omitted all together, which is why it is the focus of this course. This course is for strength coaches, personal trainers and rehab specialists such as physical therapists, athletic trainers and chiropractors.

Ask any strength coach, personal trainer or rehab specialist and they will tell you that trunk stability (or “core strength” as it is often called) is incredibly important. Despite this fact, trunk stability training is rarely the focus of programming and is often omitted all together. This is typically to a lack of understanding about trunk stability training in general.

In this course, attendees will dig deep into trunk stability and leave the course with the knowledge and skills to properly assess and program trunk stability training in their athletes and patients.

Dr. Ulm will cover:

  • Biomechanics and anatomy of trunk stability
  • Pathomechanics of injury to the lumbar spine
  • How to assess of trunk stability
